Here we have a lovely 1920's edition of Herman Melville's 'Moby Dick' - an American Classic, originally published in 1851.
Funnily enough it was not a popular book in the 19th century, selling only a few thousand copies. It wasn't till the book was re-published in the 1920's that it was recognised as a great literary work.
It covers not only the industry that "lit the world" - whaling - but many aspects of life.
It is a very interesting book, I was spellbound by certain passages. It's not hard to realise why people like Bob Dylan hold this book in such high regard.
