Mammy Bears Books 4 July 2018 · Who loves Pookie? A white rabbit with wings..... Ivy Wallace created this wonderful character in 1946. The series consists of only nine books, but they are nine little gems. Wallace's illustrations are absolutely stunning and the stories quite delightful. Pookie was one of three series Ivy Wallace created. Animal Shelf Series and Young Warrender Series being the other two. I am a huge 'Pookie' fan - this being the first book I ever borrowed from my local library waaay back in 1960. If you have never heard of this lady, do yourself a happy favour and check out her work.
