Mammy Bears Books

For all of the folks who adore Christmas - me being one - a recent "tradition" has become the showing of 'The Snowman' - a musical adaptation of the wonderful book by artist Raymond Briggs.
Briggs is so well known for this particular book, however, this fantastic artist has written and illustrated numerous works.
In the 1960's he illustrated 'The Mother Goose Treasury' which is a collection of 408 traditional poems and nursery rhymes, with over 800 colour pictures by a young Raymond Briggs, an absolute gem.
Brigg's work is popular with both adults and children. What child (especially boys) could resist 'Fungus the Bogeyman' or 'Ug - Boy Genius of the Stone Age', 'Ivor the Invisible' or, indeed 'Father Christmas'!
His graphic novels can be amusing as in 'Gentleman Jim' or stark and unsettling as in 'Where the Wind Blows'. Mentioned are just a few of his books - never dull or repetative, his work is pure imagination and a delight.
