Folding frontis illustration of gorilla, the first ever depiction of the Gorilla, folding map at rear (has damage, creases reinforced), illustrations throughout many full page. Small blind stamp to corner of title page, blue spattered book block, tear to bottom pg 28, age-related discolouration. A fascinating First Edition of this important work by anthropologist Paul Belloni Du Chaillu.
